At TCHC, we are committed to providing our patients with continued care of both their chronic medical conditions and any health maintenance visits in a safe environment. To that end, we have transitioned to providing many services via telehealth, which allows us to “see” you via video screen to discuss your medical concerns or issues without putting you or our more vulnerable patients at risk with an in-person visit. However, there are some conditions or circumstances that will require an in-office evaluation.
If you have been given an in-office appointment, there are some things that you will need to know:
- All persons entering the building will have their temperature checked.
- Patients must not have symptoms of COVID-19, including fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, other respiratory symptoms, new headaches, diarrhea, muscle aches, fatigue, or loss of taste or smell.
- Patient must not have traveled outside Vermont in the past 14 days, with the exception of travel to a non-quarantine county as identified by the Vermont Department of Health at https://accd.vermont.gov/covid-19/restart/cross-state-travel.
- Patients must not have had any close contact with a person who has been diagnosed or is suspected to have COVID-19 illness.
if you have a temperature of 100 degrees or higher, or if any of the other questions apply to you, then you will be asked to return to your car. The nurse will call you to determine how best to have you evaluated and treated. Depending on your symptoms and health condition, your provider may choose to see you while you are sitting in your car, or evaluate you in our temporary outdoor exam room.
All persons entering Thomas Chittenden Health Center must wear a mask or cloth facial covering at all times. Patients also must maintain appropriate social distance throughout the building whenever possible.
There are a number of resources on our Patient Education Page. We are continually monitoring current recommendations from the Vermont Department of Health and the CDC. We sincerely appreciate your patience as we all navigate this difficult time.
